Major wins for College, High School

The two top contenders for this year’s premier women’s hockey club crown have made an emphatic start to the top six.

The top six teams started at the twin turfs on Saturday and the two heavyweigh­ts, High School Hockey Club and College Premier, had big wins.

Last year’s champions School thrashed Massey 10-0.

College Premier won by the same scoreline, dominating Feilding 10-0.

In the other game,

College A 4-2.

In the men’s competitio­n, College Premier bounced back from a rare draw last week to thrash their clubmates College A 7-0. The premier team are unbeaten and lead the table, while the A side are at the bottom without a win.

Second-placed Marist continued their good form, beating Massey 2-0.

Levin edged ahead of High School Hockey Club into third with a 2-1 win. High School are fourth.
