Cases still climbing

People in hospital with Covid-19 continue to climb in the Midcentral District Health Board area, as Omicron continues to float through the community. The board said yesterday there were 23 cases in Palmerston North Hospital, up from 21 on Tuesday and from some weeks ago when there were fewer than 10. There were another 261 new cases reported in the region on Tuesday, but no new deaths. That leaves 1845 known active cases in the region, with 997 of them in Palmerston North, 263 in the rest of Manawatū, ino 72 taki, 250 in Horowhenua and 163 in Tararua.
