Lukasz Lipert arrived to the callout andwas greeted byWalesa, who had spoken in Hartford as part of a US tour advocating for aid for refugeeswho have fled Ukraine during thewarwith Russia. Walesa, 78, led the nationwide Solidarity movement in Poland in the 1980s that eventually toppled the country’s communist leaders. ‘‘It was definitely a great experience,’’ said Lipert, 35, who came to the US when hewas 18.
