■ Puzzled! Govt wants us to plant trees, but PNCC want us to subdivide and destroy trees.

■ Where on earth is Robertson getting all these billions from? It’s of real concern.

■ We are all supposedly equal in this country therefore if you want to make something of yourself, we must all join the same queue. BND

■ The Russian/Ukraine war has shown that self sufficiency in food and energy is very important for a country. So why are we selling off productive farm land (to mainly overseas interests) just to grow trees for carbon credits? Downright criminal.

■ Government can find $2.9 billion to squash emissions but cannot help our beleaguered health system. Once again we have to endure strike action by nurses putting ‘‘our’’ health at risk. Go figure!

■ New stamp edition Te Kura 100 years. Meant zero till read was Correspondence School. Change of name loses all the history as doesn’t relate to all gone before.

■ Always enjoy the hopeful messages of the Race Unity speech entrants. Wonderful, positive front page.

■ Great, another Covid peak is looming. It feels like we haven’t escaped the last one yet.

■ If income tax went up 3 per cent, and it all went to improving healthcare, I’d happily cop it.
