Massey women on board

The Masseywome­n got their second round up and running with awin over Feilding.

Massey won 4-1 in the club competitio­n atMassey University last Saturday for their first win of the second round, and it puts them on equal points with CollegeA and Athletic, who occupy the middle spots on the table.

High School Hockey Club are on top of the table courtesy of goal difference after a 6-1 win over Athletic.

College Premier won the interclub clash, beating CollegeA4- 1 at the twin turfs.

It sets up a heavyweigh­t clash between College Premier and High School thisweeken­d, which will be an important yardstick for later in the season.

In the men’s competitio­n, Levin jumped into second place with an important 2-1win over Marist at the twin turfs. Marist had been second but dropped to fourth place following the loss. They are equal on points with third-placed Massey.

Massey are ahead on goal difference, which was helped by a 5-0win over CollegeA, who are at the bottom of the table.

College Premier are at the other end of the standings on top. They bounced back after a rare loss last week to beat High School Hockey Club 6-1.

Women: HSHC A 9, College Premier 9, College A 3, Massey 3, Athletic 3, Feilding 0.
