COG A1 step up with first match win

College Old Girls A1 are finally in the winners’ circle of a competitio­n game this season.

College beat Manukura Red 55-54 in the premier club competitio­n at the Arena on Tuesday night.

COG had gone through the first round without a win and although they won the promotion-relegation game to stay in the premier grade, they hadn’t won a competitio­n game.

Manukura Red get a bonus point for the close loss.

Competitio­n leaders Massey A1 carried on with another win, beating

Feilding A1, who are now bottom of the table, 53-38.

Feilding haven’t had a win in the second round yet.

Second-placed Rāhui 1 are still behind Massey on goal difference after they beat Manukura Black

53-41. Manukura Black haven’t had a win in the second round either.

In the premier reserve grade, Feilding A2 beat Rāhui 2 52-22, Feilding Reserves beat Massey Old Girls 57-43 and Massey A2 beat 72-41.
