MidCentral drops below 1000

Last week’s plateau in MidCentral’s Covid-19 cases has turned into a definite drop in the past seven days. Reported active cases have fallen by 17.5% in a week, to a total of 924, including 222 reinfections. The number of people with Covid-19 for a second time was making up an increasing proportion of the total. There had been eight Covid-19-related deaths in the week, and there were eight cases in hospital yesterday. MidCentral reported there were currently 545 cases in Palmerston North, 149 in Manawatū , 136 in Horowhenua, 40 in Tararua and 50 in Ō taki.
