■ Agree with PF regarding editor’s comments on Fri 11th. Not balanced and condescending. Māorionly names are not acceptable. If I travel, eg in Japan, their official language is Japanese only; in New Zealand we have 2 languages, not just one. Still yet to receive an example of a local tourist feature with a te reo-only name causing confusion, only fear of it. – Editor ■ Don’t know why you people watch TV1 any more. Switch to TV3 – I’m now watching breakfast show, news, weather, The Project. All more refreshing announcers, more professional, clearer. Too boring on 1. Karen ■ Ruahine St, Rangit¯ıkei St, Awapuni, Hokowhitu, Aokautere are all in te reo, no translation into English. ‘‘Palmy’’ doesn’t exist on any map or any tourist destination brochure. Te reo has been used every day for years, we can learn or not more each day. ES ■ Kāinga Ora has employed more managers, and when you walk around, the state of rubbish and yards is untidy, cars everywhere. Get up them managers, what’s their contracts say? Stan ■ Are the people complaining about the farmers’ carbon footprint complaining about the carbon footprint of getting 42,000 people to Eden Park? ■ Can someone from the Green Party please explain how burning coal to generate electricity to charge electric cars is cleaner than using petrol?
