Crop of the week: bok choy

Versatile bok choy is a great gap filler in the late summer and autumn vege plot. From seed, they’re ready in as little as 55 days, and you can eat them as baby greens even sooner. They are hardy too and planted successive­ly produce well over winter. When to sow: February to October, in warm and cooler areas. When to transplant: March to November, in warm and cooler areas. Position: Full sun. Harvest: 7-8 weeks. Good for pots Good for beginners
