■ I wish to thank the beautiful stranger who spied me walking along Broadway Avenue today. She told me I needed a shopping trolley and her actions matched her words. Payment was refused. Thank you dear lady. Wonderful people appear on Broadway!

■ So ASB Bank has buckets of money to give to Black Ferns for bonuses but try and get service from them. Long queues, closed branches, long wait on phone, fix that firstly before chucking money away. Ian

■ Thanks for the story on Saturday about the rescue dogs surviving the plane crash. Happy news is always welcome. R1100

■ Demonstrat­e to children from an early age there are consequenc­es for all behaviour and it will lessen the bad behaviour we are seeing with young people. Currently they learn quickly there are no consequenc­es for bad behaviour and act accordingl­y. (Also teach them not to blame everything they do on others.)

■ Fully agree with Stan. People get these new houses and can’t even pull the weeds out of the garden. I would not like to live next door to them. D&D

■ Good to see Horizons trying to cleanup river loop at Foxton on the 15th Nov. J.J.

■ Broadway Ave footpaths need weeding, PNCC, and probably the rest of the CBD. BND
