Police get their man

A man who fled the scene of a crash in Horowhenua has been arrested. Police were called to the scene of a two-car crash on CD Farm Rd on the outskirts of Levin, about 2.15pm on Saturday, a police spokesperson said. There were no serious injuries. ‘‘One of the drivers, a 40-year-old man, fled the scene on foot and was arrested a short time later,’’ the spokesperson said. The man had been charged in relation to other matters: a family harm incident and possessing an offensive weapon. He was due to appear in court today. Two fire crews also attended the crash for about 15 minutes.
