Big Band Swing Dance: Hit the dance floor at the Levin Returned Services Associatio­n, 7.30pm to 10pm. $15.

Superhero Circus: A family show packed with superhero-themed circus, from April 15 to 19, at Centrepoin­t Theatre, 11am and 1pm.

Cowboy Dan and Search For Yeti: All ages show at The Stomach on April 19. Cowboy Dan are described as “like The Bats on just the right amount of Red Bull”. $15/$10.

Autumn Orchid Show: Manawatū Orchid Society event, from 10am to 3pm on April 20 at Baptist Church Hall, 42 Bown St, Feilding. Admission free.

Adam McGrath: Bent Horseshoe and The Hokowhitu Bowling Club presents folk singer Adam McGrath on April 20, from 7.30pm. $25.

May The 4th Be With You: Star Warsthemed live show and quiz at The Stomach. $10 entry or $5 if you come in Star Wars costume. From 8pm on May 4.

Decade of Protest: An exhibition of news photograph­y from the 1970s capturing civil protest, running May 1 to 26 at Square Edge in Palmerston North.

Te Whare Pora – A Sacred Space: Works by artist Maungarong­o (Ron) Te Kawa, of Ngāti Porou from the past three years, alongside three new quilts. At Te Manawa art gallery until July 21.

Boro – Timeworn Textiles of Japan :A significan­t collection of Japanese garments beautifull­y preserved using boro stitching and mending techniques. At Te Manawa art gallery until July 3.

We Come From the Earth: Exploring our relationsh­ip with the environmen­t using works in Te Manawa’s collection. Featuring natural materials, painting, sculpture, printmakin­g, ceramics and weaving. Until August 18.
