Rescue dog Amari wants forever home

- SAMANTHA SMITH

When Amari was found last November she was only skin and bones.

But she’s now doubled in weight and ready for a new home.

Taryn Gibbs who runs Alfriston animal rescue Passion4Pawz, rescued Amari from a Clendon Park home after a concerned phone call.

When rescued Amari only weighed 15 kilograms, now she is a healthy 30 kgs.

Gibbs who has been in animal welfare for more then 15 years says it has been a long process but they have had amazing help.

‘‘Woofles raw pet food sponsored her diet with a detailed menu, as we had to condition her stomach to actually having food have never gotten to the stage where we had to put that many resources into her,’’ she says.

Amari is looking for an owner who will be at home with her most of the day or can take her to work with them.

‘‘She gets a bit of separation anxiety. She likes to be close to her people but I think thats because she has gone from having nothing to where she has everything,’’ Gibbs says.

Amari is loyal, very intelligent and obedient, she will even do tricks for treats.

‘‘She is all round a pretty amazing dog considering what she come from.’’

Passion4Pawz is always looking for volunteers, food and donations towards vet bills for the care and wellbeing of the 34 dogs currently under their responsibility.

Donations towards current vet bills can be made to CareVets Mt Wellington, account number 12-3197-0001907-02 with the reference Passion4Pawz.
