Lawyer finds feet on stage
Lawyer by day, and a star by night.
Rory Nolan is used to juggling his law career with his passion for performing arts.
Even though this may be challenging he says it’s ‘‘incredibly rewarding’’.
As much as Nolan enjoys being a lawyer he is also able to take some time out for performing.
If he’s not in his office he is either filming, rehearsing or performing.
The former Saint Kentigern College student says he found his love of performing arts at the age of 16-years-old, when he appeared in his first production, Jesus Christ Superstar.
‘‘I know I’ve always wanted to be a singer, but at the same time can’t believe that I amfinally getting the opportunity to pursue it as a realistic career choice,’’ Nolan says.
He has starred in more than 15 music, television and theatre productions, including in Mamma Mia! in 2014 and 2016’s Phantom of the Opera, both at The Civic in Auckland.
This July he will be performing in Papakura with Operatunity in It’s Rainin’ Men.
‘‘I am very grateful for the faith they [Operatunity] have shown in me,’’ he says
He will be joined on stage with three other artists, Bonaventure Allan-Moetaua, Cameron Barclay and Rutene Spooner.
The show will be an ensemble of harmonies and movement where they will be performing songs from famous boy bands.
It’s Rainin’ Men is on July 20 at 11am at Hawkins Theatre. For more information and tickets go to operatunity.co.nz
