Meet your new president
Gayle Chambers is Grey Power Marlborough’s new president, replacing Graeme Faulkner who has become Grey Power National Board secretary.
Previously, Gayle was vicepresident with responsibility for office management. She has been active in community-based organisations for years and has much administrative experience.
Gayle is 63 years old, married with three daughters, six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
She has previously worked for the Cancer Society, the Hospice and is employed by St John. She has also been employed as a residential and home care worker.
Gayle is very passionate about the rights of the older person and believes Grey Power is the right fit for her to make a difference.
Gayle has been on the Grey Power Marlborough committee for several years as a member and as secretary, a role she currently holds also for the Zone 5 (Top of the South) meeting.
She has been a delegate to several national AGMs and is seeking a new role as Zone 5 Director to replace Nelson’s Kevin Gardener, who has become Zone 5 representative on the National Board, in his turn replacing
Graeme Faulkner.
Grey Power Marlborough is the second largest Grey Power association in New Zealand and Gayle is its first woman president after 30 years.
We have a strong, experienced and stable committee to support her in leading a large and influential organisation advocating for Marlborough’s senior population.
