Marlborough Express - Weekend Express
Of bravery, growth & adventure
The juniors are thrilled to be taught by the seniors they look up to.
A parallel journey
The storyline of Finding Nemo Jr is very similar in the sense that Nemo has stuck close to home and his father his whole life, and then embarks on an adventurous journey across the big blue like the seniors heading off into the big world, leaving home for the first time.
The parallel themes of bravery, growth and adventure resonate through both the production and the seniors' life transitions.
Audiences can anticipate a heartwarming musical experience that explores themes of bravery, friendship and family.
With more than 220 students taking the stage, the production promises a visually stunning and emotionally resonant theatre experience for the whole family.
Elly says the annual end-of-year production provides the opportunity for students to showcase their incredible passion, talent and hard work to the
Marlborough community.
“It is so rewarding seeing our students on the ASB Theatre stage pouring their heart and soul into what they love doing. To be able to give our students these experiences is so fulfilling as teachers.”
Elly's debut production
For Elly, Finding Nemo Jr marks her first official production as the studio owner of Te Tauihu Performing Arts at Dance on Grove. “I pinch myself daily that I landed this job title. And how fitting that the first production I am staging is about bravery, growth and adventure - all things that have come into play in my first year as the owner.”
Elly recognises the guidance and tutelage from her esteemed teacher/mentor Jeannie Mark, who “has taught me everything I know; thank you Jeannie”.
As the dance community eagerly awaits the curtain to rise, Finding Nemo Jr promises to be a celebration of talent, growth and the spirit of dance at Te Tauihu Performing Arts at Dance on Grove
