‘We may not have it all together, but together we have it all’

-

Marlborough Youth Trust is all about giving youth opportunities to connect, thrive, get ahead, give back and have fun in their community, and this year’s NZ Youth Week activities are centred around exactly that.

The week runs from Monday May 20 to Sunday May 26, and features everything from art, games, kai and swimming; to having at go at the physical Police Competency Test; unleashing creativity and technical skills with combat robotics by building and battling robots in teams; and competing in The Amazing Race.

Youth Week 2024 celebrates the theme: We may not have it all together, but together we have it all (Mawherangi a tama roto ka taka, kapuia ake ka purangiaho).

Marlborough Youth Trust manager Jo Lane says the trust aims to connect youth to the services they need, building confidence and giving everyone an opportunity to contribute to the community.

“Leadership is serving others, turning up and offering to help,” she says.

Here, youth can get all the information they need, including enrolling with a health practitioner. They can sign up for CACTUS, Rainbow youth group, 18+ young adults’ fun nights, MYT Sticks & Wheels, Youth in Emergency Services, Youth Employability and Music Room Jams.
