-

would have to wait for the dealer to return.

A week later, he messaged a friend saying he was about to get some ‘‘gangsta e’’, or ecstasy.

Police searched Woodford’s home in Picton on October 19 and found several cellphones, which Woodford used to message friends about drugs.

When spoken to by police Woodford declined to comment.

At Blenheim District Court on Monday he admitted three charges of offering to supply MDMA.

Woodford also admitted driving while disqualified for the third or subsequent time, and drink-driving. He was disqualified from driving in April, and again in November.

But police stopped Woodford driving home on Waikawa Rd about 1.20am on December 2. He gave a breath test result of 664 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath. The legal limit is 250mcg.

Woodford told police he knew he was disqualified from driving. He had only a few beers and then offered to take his friend home, he said.

Woodford’s lawyer Rob Harrison said he was concerned that his client was very young to be gaining a slew of convictions.

He worked as a kitchenhand at a restaurant in Picton and hoped it would be the start of a career, Harrison said.

Judge Tony Zohrab remanded Woodford on bail to February 11 for sentencing, and ordered a drug and alcohol report and a probation report.
