It’s two-from-two in T20 round

All Waikato Valley Premier grade cricket was played at St Peter’s School Cambridge on Saturday with each team playing two T20 games.

For Reid & Harrison Hinuera A, it was a day for the cricket veterans as both Matthew Hart in the morning game and Neil Bell in the afternoon contribute­d outstandin­g individual performanc­es.

In the morning Reid & Harrison Hinuera A played Otorohanga who batted first and were restricted to 133 for 7 wickets in their 20 overs with Matthew Hart claiming a wicket off the first ball of the match and finishing with 3 for 18 off his four overs.

In reply, Reid & Harrison Hinuera A only lost 3 wickets when they passed the Otorohanga total with Girvacques De Jager scoring a well compiled 67 not out and Matthew Hart also being not out at the end with his score on 35.

The afternoon game was against St Paul’s Collegiate 1st X1 with St Paul’s batting first and going through to 153 for 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

Andrew Tiddy bowled well to capture 4 wickets in his 4 over spell.

In reply Reid & Harrison Hinuera A raced to the winning target for the loss of only three wickets with more than 6 overs to spare.

Veteran Neil Bell smashed a majestic 71 to lead Hinuera to the dominant victory.

At the end Andrew Tiddy scored a quick fire 29 not out to seal the win.
