COLOUR

Versatile and soothing, a pale green breathes life into the home. Teamed with a neutral palette and natural fabrics, it creates a harmonious space.

- WORDS BY DONNA DUGGAN

Versatile and soothing, a pale green breathes life into the home.

In the colour world, many are familiar with Duck Egg Blue, a pale greenishblue colour popular in country, coastal and French provincial-style homes. But much like the actual eggs laid by ducks, as a colour Duck Egg isn’t just one colour. Rather, it is a range of shades that vary in colour and tone depending on how the colour is mixed, varying from a pale green to a soft blue. The colour works beautifully as a neutral and accent colour, and offers an understated way to break up a white colour scheme. The colour can be used on the walls as paint or wallpaper to provide a relaxing backdrop. It can also add life and style to a neutral base when used for upholstery, furniture, window coverings and accessories. While it teams perfectly with white, creams and soft greys, it also looks great with wood. When decorating with Duck Egg, you don’t need to keep to one shade. Instead, experiment with different patterns and tones; just keep it in the Duck Egg family.

“GREEN IS THE PRIME COLOR OF THE WORLD, AND THAT FROM WHICH ITS LOVELINESS ARISES.”
