BODY BEAUTIFUL

A beautifully designed, robust outdoor setting in a neutral shade will never go out of style.

From dissolving double chins to body sculpting, aesthetic medicine is booming.

The key to creating the perfect outdoor living space is ensuring that it feels like an extension of your interior, balancing style and function with key features like good lighting, protection from the elements and furniture that is durable, comfortable and serviceable. Grey is the perfect colour for outdoor living; it’s a neutral shade that beautifully complements greenery while not showing every speck of dust. New to Coco Republic, the Malibu Outdoor Extension Dining Table reflects a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Made from robust materials to weather the outdoor elements year-round, the table pairs a ceramic top with a designer aluminium base. Being extendable to accommodate a larger group, the table is ideal for entertaining as well as everyday use. Here, the Malibu table is teamed with the comfortable Catalina Outoor Dining Chair, also available from Coco Republic. Crafted from rope set atop a four-legged aluminium base with a durable powder coat finish and a cushion with foam insert covered in weather-proof fabric, the chair is perfect for outdoor dining.

STRENGTH AND HOPEFULNESS

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute says the choice of ‘Illuminating’ yellow and ‘Ultimate Gray’ as the 2021 Colours of the Year is “to express a message of strength and hopefulness”. Selecting two colours for only the second time in 22 years, Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow, with the Ultimate Gray solid and dependable. “Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit,” says Eiseman. The colour combination certainly isn’t new, with designers using the mix since grey became a popular neutral in the 1980s. “In architecture and interior design, the colours do not have to be used in equal proportions. Either colour can take precedence,” says Eiseman. The colours of pebbles on the beach and natural elements whose weathered appearance highlights an ability to stand the test of time, Ultimate Gray quietly assures, whereas the vibrant yellow adds warmth and energy.
