-

Fancy your chocolate out of a printer? A dessert manufacturer has invented a 3D-printing studio for sweets, the first device of its kind. Making the finalist list for Best Technology Innovation at the World Food Innovation Awards 2021, chocolate company Barry Callebaut has built the Mona Lisa 3D Studio, where chefs can print their own unique chocolate creations, achieving intricate designs and impressive shapes at scale. “With Mona Lisa 3D Studio you can treat your customers to personalised, limited-edition or amazing interactive chocolate creations to make your mark,” the company says. For the launch, the company collaborated with top pastry chef Jordi Roca to print a ‘Flor de Cacao’ creation, a cocoa bean that opens up to reveal a cacao flower when drizzled with hot chocolate sauce.
