SMART THINKING

There’s nothing better than relaxing in a cosy and inviting home on a cold winter’s day, especially in a bed as beautiful as this. We love the brightness from the natural light, the warm rug underfoot, plush pillows to snuggle against and the use of soothing tones with pops of warmth. If your home is feeling a bit cool for comfort, there are tons of ways to make it toasty. Wintery fabrics such as faux fur, sheepskin, velvet and wool are both stylish and functional, and can be easily incorporated by way of throws, rugs, cushions and curtains. Lighting is of utmost importance on dull winter days – a few candles and lamps with warm bulbs (like the mushroom lamp pictured) will make a world of difference. If the grey skies are getting you down, consider instant mood-boosters such as decorative objects or accessories in cheerful shades, or an indoor plant or two. If your space is in need of a refresh, the experts at Pantone recommend deep, rich colours that connect you to nature: think Magenta Purple (like the underside of a cyclamen leaf), Ultramarine Green (as on a peacock feather) and Amber Glow, a rich and earthy orange.
