DAIQUIRI, DONE!

I distinctly remember having a daiquiri party for my 21st birthday – a great idea, except I spent most of the time in the kitchen blending numerous combinations and I missed a lot of the action. If I got the chance to be 21 again (probably not), I’d opt for a pre-mixed version of the daiquiri, as well as some great wine, and spend more time with friends, rather than playing bartender. Australian multi-beverage company Batch & Co is behind a new cocktail range, launching with the classic strawberry daiquiri. The simple combination of strawberries, rum and lime juice makes this drink ideal as an aperitif or welcome beverage for home parties, and easily transportable if the ’do is elsewhere. The unfussiness of the blend and its packaging means it can be chilled in advance and poured directly over ice, or, combine several in a blender and frappé up a batch for several guests in one go.
