MiNDFOOD (New Zealand)

LETTER OF THE MONTH

-

I have just finished reading my copy of MiNDFOOD and want to congratulate you on the article about Dr Katalin Karikó’s work on the Pfizer vaccine (‘The COVID Lifesaver’, June), which was both interesting and informative. I have heard that many people are nervous about getting the Pfizer vaccine because of the apparent speed with which it emerged after COVID struck. People think that because of this speediness of bringing out the vaccine that it was rushed into being and that it was not properly tested. Your article proves both those fears groundless and states how most of Dr Karikó’s work on this vaccine was done 30 years ago.

The article is well worth a read because it has lots of salient and commonsense content. This is the sort of in-depth reporting we should be getting from all our media instead of the mostly nonsense fluff pieces we do get. Keep up the good work!

Susan
