DYSON V15 DETECT

Dyson has released a new generation of cord-free vacuum cleaners. The Dyson V15 Detect uses a Hyperdymium motor to generate powerful suction and five-stage filtration captures 99.99 per cent of dust particles down to 0.3 microns for a deep clean. “As engineers our job is to solve daily problems, and the past 12 months has created plenty of new ones with more time spent indoors,” explains James Dyson, Chief Engineer and Founder. “We are all cleaning more frequently, trying to remove the additional house dust but desperate for peace of mind that our homes are truly clean. Our latest vacuums use laser technology to reveal hidden dust, integrating a diode laser into the cleaner head that is precisely positioned at a 1.5 degree angle to create the best contrast between dust and floor. We don’t think detection is enough, so we remove and meticulously size and count the particles 15,000 times a second using an acoustic piezo sensor ... displaying precisely the size and number of particles sucked up on an LCD.”

LG WASHTOWER

Any tech that reduces time spent in the laundry is good tech in our books. The recently released LG WashTower is a single unit that combines a front-load washing machine and a heat pump dryer. As well as saving space, the WashTower is powered by artificial intelligence that weighs the load and assesses the fabric to select the appropriate cycles. The unit can also share information on the wash load with the dryer via the ‘Smart Pairing’ feature to automatically set the optimal drying course for added convenience. For allergy sufferers, the downloadable Allergiene cycle uses steam to remove common household allergens in fabrics. LG ThinQ™ connectivity allows users to monitor washing and drying cycles and energy consumption, receive alerts, help diagnose appliance problems and download new cycles.
