LAST RIDE FOR THE CAPTAIN

Looking out over Uralla’s main street, the life-sized statue of Captain Thunderbolt was produced as a Bicentennial project and designed and cast by sculptor Denis Adams. It was unveiled in 1988 and witnessed by what has been described as the biggest crowd ever assembled in Uralla. Look closely and you will see near the Thunderbolt statue a memorial to Constable Alexander Binning Walker, the officer who brought an end to the Captain’s career.
