Onlookers have captured incredible drone photographs of a herd of 15 wild elephants including three calves, resting in a patch of forest on the outskirts of southwest China.

The herd of elephants embarked on their 500-kilometre trek over a year ago, journeying north from an elephant protection zone near the China-Myanmar border. The story has captured the world’s attention, though authorities are yet to understand exactly why the herd is on the move.
