DOGGY DINERS

-

One passionate dog-lover is taking the concept of ‘pet-friendly’ to a new level, with the opening of New Zealand’s first restaurant for dogs. Following on from the success of his pet food company, Dog On Restaurant – which sells dog ‘cakes’, ‘pizza’ and even ‘sushi’ – owner Sam Kim is soon to open a dine-in offering at Auckland’s Westgate. The restaurant will serve both human and dog food, with specially designed tables and pet bowls for its furry patrons. Kim, who does everything with his beloved Maltese poodle, Pama, admits he’s had a mixed response from the public when he first announced his new concept, but hopes dog owners will see it as a fun and trendy experience. Meals are expected to cost between $8 and $18.
