A SUSTAINABLE EXAMPLE

- Barbara

My parents wasted nothing. Newspapers were laid on newly dug vegetable patches; compost was created in drums also destined for the gardens. We had chooks (I now have two), the dogs ate the scraps from the kitchen, the fresh meat, bread and vegetables were frozen, and fruit was preserved. Leftovers returned as soup, sauces or something on toast. I, to the best of my ability, have walked the same path.
