HILMA AF KLINT: THE SECRET PAINTINGS

Tickets are now on sale for Hilma af Klint: The Secret Paintings, an exhibition at City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi which brings the enigmatic paintings of the Swedish artist and mystic to NZ for the first time (4 December - 27 March 2022). The exhibition, curated by Sue Cramer, is coming to Wellington after the Art Gallery of New South Wales, where it was only open to the public for 14 days due to COVID restrictions. Billed as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime exhibition’ and showcasing works that changed the course of art history, The Secret Paintings will be well worth a trip to the capital. “She is now probably the most talked about, the most written about, the most desirable artist to be showing in your gallery,” says City Gallery Wellington senior curator Aaron Lister.
