MAKING MUM PROUD

Reading Michael’s editorial in the December edition (‘Memories To Cherish’) gave me goosebumps from head to toe. A few years ago, my husband and his five siblings recreated their mum’s Xmas cake recipe over 10 hours and dare I say a few glasses of wine. There were lots of laughs and tears as they remembered the joy of being in the kitchen with their mum. At the end of the day six cakes were baked, wrapped in baking paper and put away for Christmas. Now that lockdown is over for us, my siblings and I (there are 10 of us!) have been making up for lost time with our 86-year-old mum. Thank you for bringing this memory back and for your wonderful publication.
