DIY COTTON BLANKET WITH AN INDIGO COLOUR GRADIENT

-

“A POWERFUL MIX OF VIOLET AND BLUE, INDIGO IS GREAT FOR PLACES THAT CALL FOR CALM AND CREATIVITY.”

For the blanket you will need T-shirts made of cotton cut into strips or cotton thread (any white, the number depends on the size of the blanket), indigo for cotton, two buckets and rubber gloves.

Crochet or knit the blanket first with loose stitches by hand (i.e. without needles). Soak in a bucket of clear water for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the paint in the second bucket according to the packaging instructions. Put on gloves and slide the narrow side of the blanket into the dye bath: not too deep so that everything does not get soaked with paint. When the paint has lifted as high as you’d like, remove the cover and hang it on a drying rack to dry. Place an old sheet under the drying rack to prevent it dripping on the floor.
