New to NZ, CeraVe skincare was created in 2005 by US dermatologists who noticed that many skin conditions such as dry skin, eczema and acne-prone skin had one thing in common – a deficiency in skin ceramides and in turn, a compromised skin barrier. Ceramides are a unique form of lipid, or fats, that are found naturally in between the skin cells of the stratum corneum, or barrier. Subsequently, each of the daily-use face and body products in the CeraVe line include three skin-identical ceramides delivered with a specific slow-release technology called Multi Vesicular Emulsion, along with other key ingredients to help nourish and restore the natural skin barrier as well as address other skin conditions like acne.

Now popular worldwide, it’s found an extensive younger audience thanks to social media, but the gentle, easy to use products are also great for a wide range of people including men, sensitive skin types, teens and those wanting a no-fuss routine.

The CeraVe collection, which is now available at Chemist Warehouse stores, includes a number of cleansers and moisturisers as well as an eye cream, hand cream and foot cream.
