STRONG FOUNDATIONS

-

NARS Sheer Glow has been the best-selling foundation at Mecca for over a decade. That’s some serious cred for a makeup staple, but there’s a new contender from the New York City-based brand that’s just landed and we’re picking it’ll be a similar hit. NARS Light Reflecting Foundation is a fluid, medium coverage foundation with a fresh, glowy finish that is considered both makeup and skincare in one. According to the brand, it’s made of 70 per cent skincare ingredients, as opposed to simply pigments and ingredients that help blend the colour. This includes biomimetic oat for skin’s clarity, Japanese Lilyturf plant for moisture retention and cacao peptides so the skin benefits last longer than just the day’s wear. The lineup offers 36 shades and has a vegan formula that works for all skin types.

Of course, while dewy-finish foundation has been grabbing the spotlight recently, for those with oily skin or who prefer a more perfected, matte finish, new options have been few and far between. Clarins provides new solutions in the form of a Skin Illusion Velvet Foundation, its formula designed to provide hydration while mattifying skin instantly and controlling oil over time. Ever Matte Compact Powder further sets your complexion and blurs imperfections.
