Emerald Cruises has taken delivery of Emerald Azzurra, the first of the brand’s two new superyachts. On finishing the build in Ha Long Shipyard in Vietnam in February, the 100-guest luxury yacht headed to Aqaba, Jordan, where it will welcome guests on board its inaugural sailing. After this journey, Emerald Azzurra will transit via the Suez Canal to embark on a season of Mediterranean and Adriatic coast cruises between April and November 2022. The superyacht will then travel to Doha, Qatar in December, for the new 8-day Gems of the Arabian Peninsula and 8-day Delights of the Arabian Gulf cruises. Glen Moroney, Founder and Chairman, Scenic Group, says: “This yacht represents the next generation of yacht cruising, taking guests to new destinations with onboard luxury amenities that are unlike any other small-ship experience. Her sister yacht – Emerald Sakara – will follow early next year, providing double the opportunities for guests to join us onboard our ground-breaking vessels.” A first for yacht cruising, Emerald Azzurra features an innovative infrared sauna for longer, relaxing guest wellness experiences. Of the 50 luxuriously appointed suites, more than 88 per cent have balconies, with more space per guest than similar vessels of this size. The yacht also features a large infinity pool, spa, gym and marina platform, with SEABOBs, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment available for guests to enjoy. A fleet of the latest in electronic bikes from Gocycle are available on board – perfect for local village trips and active explorations. emeraldcruises.com.au
