TO YOUR DOOR
Too tired to cook dinner? Or the bar fridge is looking bare? Or perhaps you’ve run out of toilet paper, or pet food? DoorDash is the answer.
Aworld-famous food and goods delivery service has arrived in New Zealand, with Wellingtonians the first to try the innovative offering. DoorDash is one of the world’s most popular ondemand prepared food delivery services, having expanded across the US, Canada, Australia and Japan. For their launch into New Zealand, DoorDash has partnered with local vendors and merchants in Wellington, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt to offer locals a convenient way to get food, drinks and more delivered to their doorsteps. As the hospitality industry bounces back from the pandemic, this new delivery service is a great boost for businesses, allowing them to connect with their customers in an easy and convenient way. Wellington institutions like The Ramen Shop, 1154 Pastaria and Boneface Brewing have already signed on, as well as national brands including Subway, McDonald’s and Nando’s.
Subway’s Director of Operations Chris Churchmichael said signing up to DoorDash made perfect sense: “Restaurants with third-party delivery have a significant advantage in today’s Quick Service Restaurant marketplace. Being able to deliver fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps and cookies without having to leave home is a service that is expected.”
Chef Vaibhav Vishen of Chaat Street by Vaibhav Vishen, said: “It makes sense for a new venture like us to launch on a globally known platform that is making its first entry in New Zealand.”
DoorDash is available now in Wellington, with plans to expand into Auckland later this year. Wellington locals get 50 per cent off their first two orders. To connect with your local food spots, download the DoorDash app. Visit doordash.com
