LETTER OF THE MONTH

I loved your cover story on Downtown Abbey: A New Era (May issue). I had been to see the film a few days prior to receiving the issue from a caring friend. While watching the film, I was so surprised to recognise scenes filmed in Le Pradet, near Toulon, where I had lived for 3 years 30 years ago with the man who would become my husband a few years later.

In the article, you refer to this corner of the country, little known by France – let alone the rest of the world. It brought back fond memories of walks and swims in the little bays around this area, some of which can only be accessed on foot or by boat. The film was fabulous, but the scenes of Le Pradet were the icing on the cake for me.

The day after I saw the film I tested positive for COVID-19. Your magazine sustained me during my isolation. Merci beaucoup!
