Ana Milena Hernández Palacios & Christophe Penasse
A willingness to push the boundaries is a valuable quality in the design world. For Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse, the duo behind award-winning Spanish interior design studio Masquespacio, this ambitious spirit resulted in an unconventional presentation at the 2022 Salone del Mobile. Titled Forms & Textures, their collection of unusual objects, such as chairs, room dividers and lamps, is the result of experimentation with 3D printing, going against the grain by creating pieces that are uncomfortable and lacking functionality, rather existing as artworks by themselves.
Penasse says Palacios, the interior designer in the team, is the creative force behind their novel ideas. “She is the one who pushes the limit and I am the strategist. Sometimes I have to keep her tied to the project, to a company brief, to the client, as if she were a balloon ready to take off.”
