Jay Osgerby & Edward Barber

-

For the 10th anniversary of their monumental Tobi-Ishi table for B&B Italia, British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby presented an Italian Renaissance-inspired re-edition, with striking white and green marble contrasts. The pair, who have worked together since they were in college, say collaboration comes naturally to them. “The fact that we started collaborating when we were kids – we were 21 years old – makes our way of working very inclusive. Companies love to be a part of this conversation, and this way we get the best results,” says Barber. “It’s hard to characterise our individual roles, we’re both leading a team, and in that sense, we really work for each other,” adds Osgerby. Bold and meticulous in its design, the special edition Tobi-Ishi table has nods to iconic Italian architecture, most notably the Romanesque Gothic Duomo in Siena with its white Carrara quartz and deep Alpi green marble.
