Stine Gam & Enrico Fratesi
The stylistic signature of GamFratesi studio, founded in Copenhagen by architect duo Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, has a common thread. No doubt influenced by the couple’s real-life relationship, the storytelling is about intimacy, told through a considered study of decorative history. Gam’s Scandinavian hands-on approach complements Fratesi’s technical and analytical Italian view. “We have shared life and work for 15 years,” says Fratesi. “We know each other better than anyone else.” Gam agrees: “We have reached such a level of understanding that we can steal a pencil from the other’s hand and continue working on the same design.” Leaning into their collaborative nature, GamFratesi worked with Italian brand Minotti and Japanese firm Koyori at the 2022 Salone del Mobile, presenting sculpturally sophisticated chairs with wood and leather finishes.
