Frederik De Wachter & Alberto Artesani
A collaboration between Montreal design studio Lambert & Fils and DWA Design Studio, founded by Frederik De Wachter and Alberto Artesani, injected life into Caffè Populaire at this year’s Milan showcase. Designed as a temporary concept restaurant at Alcova, the public space was a celebration of food and design, brought together around the table. Set in an old panettone factory with vines from an overgrown garden creeping in, the conceptual café showcased a large table blooming with wild flowers, connected to an indoor water sculpture, with cylindrical lighting pieces by Lambert & Fils hung over. Along with extensive design partnerships, De Wachter and Artesani have carved out a reputation in the luxury space, working with the likes of Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino.
