VERSATILE COOKWARE
Described as the ‘Swiss Army Knife of cast iron cookware’, the Old Dutch from Ironclad Pan Company is a new take on a combination oven, with a nifty base and lid design that can be used in its original form or interchanged for various cooking methods, including stacked for roasting and stewing, turned upside down as a bread oven or just the lid on its own as a skillet. Co-founder Kate Slavin says the flexible design was born of a frustration with single-use cookware. “We wanted the Dutch oven to be as multi-functional as possible. Its oval shape allows the user to cook a wider variety of dishes and its unique handle design means it’s easily manoeuvrable when hot – no matter how you are using it.” The Old Dutch is crafted from recycled iron and can be used on all cooking surfaces, from induction to campfires.
