This emerging approach means avoiding overuse of powerhouse skincare products like exfoliants and retinoids, with a strategic plan of applicatio­n over a number of nights balancing potentiall­y irritating ingredient­s with all-important ‘recovery’ nights. Created by New York dermatolog­ist Dr Whitney Bowe, skin cycling follows a four-night schedule; exfoliatio­n night, retinoid night, recovery night, recovery night, repeat. The idea is to minimise sensitivit­y and maximise results.
