Skoda and Volkswagen launch apps

The brand new Skoda service app is now available to download for smartphone­s now. It has been designed to assist with all Skoda servicing and maintenanc­e requiremen­ts while on the road.

In the all new app informatio­n and features are contained within three main categories:

My Dealer. Gives you the option to choose your local dealership so you can contact them in a few easy clicks. It is also possible to view the opening hours and services offered at each locations

Assistance. If you are in need of assistance, this feature will help you contact SKODA Assistance and find a service centre nearby that will get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

My Car. Informatio­n about your car can be found here, including a digital vehicle handbook, dashboard warning light explanatio­n and current model range features.

Skoda says it is the first automotive brand in New Zealand to provide customers with nationwide access to their nearest dealership, resulting in around the clock access to vehicle servicing and maintenanc­e informatio­n.

The Skoda service app can be downloaded from the iTunes AppStore and Android Marketplac­e, or simply drop in to any Skoda dealership and it will be done there.

Meanwhile sibling brand Volkswagen New Zealand has released what it says is the most comprehens­ive automotive service app available on the market; offering Kiwi drivers an innovative way to improve their driving experience.

The Volkswagen service app’s extensive range of features includes:

Parking. Parking space timer and location reminder, to avoid tickets.

Roadside assistance. Contact Volkswagen Assistance and record all accident details.

On the Road. Record your recent road trips and translate all foreign languages

Service. Locate the nearest dealer and the services they offer.

Tips and offers. Exclusive offers to App users for both passenger and commercial.

Symbols. Dashboard symbol dictionary. My Car. Record your vehicle details for easy upload if in an acciden. “We’ve launched this app to help support Volkswagen’s rapid growth and as part of our commitment to Kiwi drivers,” says Volkswagen New Zealand general manager Tom Ruddenklau. “Features such as the Roadside Assistance accident report will make a real difference to our drivers – helping them record all details at time of an accident and then sending these directly to their inbox to be shared with their insurance company.”
