Why use Wix filters?

-

The history of Wix Filters began in North Carolina, USA in 1939.

More than 70 years ago, John “Jack” Wicks and his business partner Paul Crenshaw saw a need for replacement filters that would simplify the changing process.

After 15 years of successfully manufacturing filters primarily for agriculture and WWII efforts, Wix turned the filter market upside down with the invention of a spin-on oil filter design that quickly became the industry standard.

Today, Wix says its light duty filters consistently offer the best protection in the industry for fit, form and function. And that goes for Japanese, European, Australian, Korean and American cars, as well as light and heavy trucks, agricultural and industrial applications.

Wix says that filtration has always been a critical consideration that can significantly impact the long-term profitability of an entire fleet. That fact holds even more relevance today, as fuel prices and vehicle maintenance take more and more of every fleet’s operating expenditure.

Fortunately for technicians and customers, Wix engineers have spent decades improving engine filtration alternatives and today offer premium products that protect engines better than ever before.

At nine pleats per inch, Wix says it air filter media captures more contaminants. Better filtration with lower restriction to air flow can also improve fuel economy.

In today’s fuel injection systems a high-quality filter is more important than ever. A fuel filter keeps dirt, rust, scale and other impurities from clogging injectors and carburetors, allowing the engine to run trouble free and at peak economy. Wix designs fuel filters to fit all vehicles and has recently included a bracketed fuel filter to its range.

WIX cabin air filters are the industry’s most technologically advanced too. That’s because Wix has added BioShield 75, a patented, invisible micro-biostatic coating, to trap and eliminate odour-causing bacteria, fungi and algae.

Recent advances from Wix include: The first conical air filter development

for Ford Motor Company. The first combination by-pass and

anti-drain back value. Odour removing cabin interior air

filters. Patent-pending air filters that eliminate bypass to improve engine performance. Centrifuge filters and other extended

drain interval products. Staggered short pleat air filters for better management. Wix have made a commitment to have all plants certified for ISO/TS 16949:2002, which will replaces the QS9000 certification currently in all plants. Rigorous supplier standards, including ISO9001 or QS9000 certification and stringent sourcing standards, assure materials of uncompromised quality. Further quality assurance is guaranteed and controlled by the Wix commitment to manufacture component parts.

Wix is also the number one filter in NASCAR, and the only filter officially licensed by NASCAR.
