Battery Town conference and awards

-

The Battery Town Conference 2014 was held at the Pullman Hotel, Auckland on May 8-10, with delegates from the more than 100 privately-owned auto electrical workshops which comprises the Battery Town network attending.

A major talking point was when the hotel’s reception had to be disassembled to allow a ‘57 Chevrolet and a ’32 Roadster to be driven into the Princess Ball room as centre pieces of the Rock ‘n Roll themed event.

The night was led by special guest and MC Jackie Clarke, known for her work as one of NZ leading entertainers and NZ Idol judge.

Presenters included HCB Technologies’ general manager Paul Eden, Johnson Controls, HCB’s marketing manager Warrik Skulve, auto electrical and diagnostics trainers and specialists AECS, Dave Curren of HCB, and HCB’s battery chemist Ian Mawston, with the closing presentation by Contiki Holidays founder and CEO John Anderson.

There were 15 displays with new products, Deka accessories, Varta batteries, Hella NZ, as well as Battery Town showroom displays, and several Battery Town businesses exhibiting their own unique products. The closing Battery Town Awards night dinner recognised Battery Town’s excellence in achievement in sales and branding, and included seven award categories spanning more than18 awards, and culminating in the Platinum Award for Greatest Overall Sales increase.
