Stocks expands Hunter in NZ

-

Well known for its leadership in wheel alignment technology, the Hunter name is about to become more widely recognised in New Zealand for its tyre equipment.

Stocks Equipment, the sole New Zealand distributor for the famous American brand, is launching a range of Hunter tyre changers that will complement the wheel balancers and wheel aligners introduced to this market several years ago.

“Hunter has become the wheel aligner of choice for many leading tyre businesses and car dealerships because they are fast, accurate and reliable and the same applies to the Hunter range of tyre changers and wheel balancers,” says William Singleton, general manager of Stocks Equipment.

“Our experience with the Hunter wheel balancer range, which has performed extraordinarily well since we introduced these machines, has led Stocks Equipment to broaden our offering and include the tyre changers that are made under the Hunter brand name.”

Hunter’s range of tyre changers are made in Correggio, Italy which is the home of the Italian tyre changer manufacturing industry, to the exacting Hunter specifications, he explains.

Stocks Equipment is introducing four Hunter tyre changer models to the New Zealand market; the TCX525, TCX565, TCX575 and the Auto 34, which all come with a threeyear warranty.

The range starts with the Hunter TCX525, a conventional style tyre changer with an automatic tilt column, capable of 24-inch inside rim clamping, whilst providing maximum protection to expensive alloy wheels.

The key to a good tyre changer is having a powerful, accurate and fast bead loosener and the TCX525 features a double-acting pneumatic cylinder designed to transfer high force onto the shovel. Its cross articulating design enables the bead loosener shovel to work very precisely with small to large tyre profiles, making it a very versatile machine for any workshop.

An optional bead press system (BPS) is also available for speedier and easier clamping, lubricating, demounting and mounting the toughest wheel and tyre combinations

The Hunter TCX565 & TCX575 models are more advanced conventional-style tyre changers, also capable of handing up to 24-inch wheels and feature a leverless tool head that lifts the bead without use of levers. These models have a moveable turntable that can be raised up and down for operator comfort. A power-out bead breaker, with finger controls, eliminates moving pads and arm position and they also come with a two-speed, single phase motor operated off a foot pedal, so no switches required. Adaptors are included so both models can do from 10 inch to 30 inch wheels. The help arm has extra features including Rim Press, bead locking and fitting assist.

The top-of-the-range Hunter Auto 34 is fully automatic leverless tyre changer capable of handling up to 34-inch rims – the base expands to accommodate larger wheel/tyre combinations. Claimed to deliver the easiest operation in its class thanks to its simple push-button controls, the Auto 34 features a patented dynamic leverless tool head that de-mounts and then mounts the tyre in one fluid movement with no damage to the rim. A bead press arm also helps mount especially difficult tyres.

The Auto 34 has an exclusive wheel support plate that provides extra gripping force and has three adjustable working heights.

Another nice feature is the blast inflation device.
