Isuzu Trucks New Zealand has announced the appointment of Colin Muir as general manager.
Following the resignation of Oliver Foote, who leaves the company after three years at the helm and eight years combined at both Holden and Isuzu, Colin Muir officially took the reins on July 25.
Colin Muir graduated from the University of Stirling in Scotland with a BA Hons in Marketing and came to New Zealand in 2002 as business manager for Gough Gough and Hamer, before joining Isuzu in 2009 as sales and marketing manager.
Holden New Zealand managing director, Jeff Murray, who oversees Isuzu trucks, commented: “Colin has a great knowledge of Isuzu and its people and has been an important part of the Isuzu team and I believe that Colin will thrive in his new role,” Mr Murray said.
Colin Muir added: “Isuzu has been the number one selling truck for 14 years in a row and that’s due to a few reasons, one of those is the quality and options offered in our trucks, another reason is the people behind the brand from sales to technicians to customer service.
“I have a responsibility to ensure that Isuzu trucks continues to be the product customers have come to expect and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”
Isuzu trucks also announced the appointment of Michael Doeg to the role of sales and marketing manager for Isuzu.
Michael Doeg joined Holden in 2006 as a district manager, he was promoted to sales operations manager in 2008 before becoming the Holden national sales manager in 2010. Michael has worked in motor vehicle sales and management since the mid ‘90s and brings with him a wealth of motoring sales experience to this role.
“Although I have been working in the motoring industry for a long time the truck element will bring its challenges but they are challenges I’m excited about facing. It’s also important that I continue to provide the support that Isuzu dealerships need and deserve,” said Michael Doeg.
