New focus on Stenhoj hoists in NZ

-

There’s no better time to buy a Stenhoj two or fourpost hoist in New Zealand than right now, according to Stocks Equipment, the sole New Zealand distributor for the Danish brand of premium vehicle lifts.

With the exchange rate close to record highs recently, the pricing of Stenhoj products is keener than it’s been in years, and Stocks Equipment has recently sharpened its pencil to give buyers an even better deal, which also includes installation in the purchase price.

“Stenhoj is acknowledged as one of the top quality hoists in the world and we are giving buyers the opportunity to buy these hoists at prices that are unlikely to be repeated again,” says William Singleton, general manager of Stocks Equipment.

“The local market has been fixated on cheap, lowend garage equipment out of Asia in recent times, but there is no substitute for quality. You get what you pay for.

“Cheap products, such as hoists, end up costing more in the long term through higher maintenance and repair costs and they’ll need to be replaced sooner because they wear out faster than those from a top quality brand like Stenhoj, as evidenced by long time, busy premium vehicle hoist users.

“A premium Stenhoj two or four-post hoist also performs better and safety is second-to-none. These Danish-made hoists are literally built to last a lifetime provided they are maintained regularly and Stocks have plenty of spare parts and service technicians nationwide that can make them last.

William points out that the Stenhoj Major four-post hoist, which is mostly used in conjunction with wheel aligners, offers “lightning fast” lift speeds. It can lift a vehicle from ground to full height in just 22 seconds, half the speed of some of its cheaper competitors, thanks to its powerful 3kW motor.

The Stenhoj four-post hoist is designed to lift four tonnes, and has a 4.7-metre-long platform, with three metres in between the columns, so can accommodate large SUVs and light commercial vehicles. Maximum lift height is 1.82 metres, and it lowers to a minimum of just 160mm, including the slip plates, which is good for enabling low-slung vehicles to be driven on.

The Stenhoj asymmetrical two-post model, the Maestro, is similarly fast and well-featured. It is a clear floor design, which is safer in a busy workshop, and more aesthetically pleasing, too.

Manufactured to lift a maximum of 3.2 tonnes, the Maestro employs twin synchronised motors for fast and efficient operation, and is able to lift to a maximum height of 1.9 metres, with double safety nuts fitted to the carriers. Other safety features include a deadman control and separate main switch. The cold-rolled, centred spindle ensures a very long operating life, compared to ordinary twopost hoists.

The Maestro features a programmable top stop as standard, which enables the technician to programme the lift to stop at the same working position every time it is raised, ensuring an ergonomically correct working position.

William says Stocks Equipment currently has both the Major and Maestro hoists in stock at its Auckland warehouse for immediate delivery, and the promotional prices can be viewed on the website www.georgestock.co.nz under Auto Equipment Promotions.
